Locally known as “racchettoni” (referring to the special racquets that are used for playing), this sport has its origins in the “Riviera Romagnola” from where its popularity has spread as far as the United States. There is also a special federation, the ITBF, that oversees this sport.
Along the beaches of the Northern Lidos you can find beach tennis courts where tournaments are regularly held and where you can challenge your friends to a game until late at night.
Racquets and balls are usually included in the rental of the court.
During the summer season you can take part in national or a local amateur tournaments for adults and children.

Beach volleyball is a variation of volleyball played on sand. You can find a beach volleyball court next to the beach tennis courts in almost every bathing establishment. Most of them are lit for evening games.
Tournaments are organized by the bathing establishments. Competition entries are divided into different age groups.
